Recognizing the benefits of joining forces and making our voice stronger in the European research community, the EASN Board of Directors took the decision to join the the Initiative for Science in Europe (ISE) as a full member. The Initiative for Science in Europe (ISE) is an independent platform of European Learned Societies and Research Organizations operating within different disciplines and across sectors. ISE supports all fields of science at a European level, involves researchers in the design and implementation of European science policies, and advocates strong independent scientific advice in European policy making.

Following increased concerns about the COVID-19 virus, the EASN Association is taking the unpleasant but necessary step to postpone the EASN International Workshop on Space: "Implementing the Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda for Space: The Academia Response".

EASN Association supports the campaign started by the Initiative for Science in Europe (ISE) asking Member States to keep their commitment to Horizon Europe as high as proposed by the Parliament despite an overall lower investment in the Multiannual Financial Framework.

EASN is entering a new era as Prof. Andreas Strohmayer (Dept. of Aircraft Design, University of Stuttgart), has been appointed as the new Chairman of EASN. In addition, the title of EASN Honorary Chairman was granted to Prof. Spiros Pantelakis in recognition of his exceptional contribution and long-lasting support to the Association. On the occasion of this new beginning, Prof. Andreas Strohmayer and Prof. Spiros Pantelakis share their thoughts for the current status and the upcoming steps of the Association.

The 9th EASN International Conference on "Innovation in Aviation & Space", the largest and most comprehensive gathering of the Association so far, was successfully held in Athens, Greece between the 3rd and 6th of September 2019.

The 10th EASN General Assembly took place in Athens on September 3rd, 2019 aside the 9th EASN International Conference. During the General Assembly, the Board of Directors was dissolved and candidates for a new BoD were announced. The EASN BoD election took place on Wednesday September 4th. In the subsequent first meeting of the new Board of Directors, the positions of the BoD members within the Board have been assigned. Following to the above, the composition of the new BoD is as following:
