The 33rd Congress of the International Council of the Aeronautical Sciences (ICAS) will be held from 04-09 September in Sweden. The objectives of ICAS Congress 2022 are to provide opportunities for the exchange of knowledge, discussion of aeronautical research, technology, and related issues and to promote international awareness, cooperation and collaboration. The objectives of COSPAR Assemblies remain the same, namely "to promote on an international level scientific research in space, with emphasis on the exchange of results, information and opinions and to provide a forum, open to all scientists, for the discussion of problems that may affect scientific space research". The Science Program Committee (SPC) and the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) for Athens 2022 remain dedicated to fulfilling these objectives and invite the world's scientific community to participate and submit abstracts to well over 350 sessions proposed so far. There will certainly be no shortage of new scientific findings in the subject areas of COSPAR's eight Commissions and eleven Panels, so the 44th Scientific Assembly will be exciting and rewarding.

The RUMBLE Consortium is glad to announce the organization of the 2nd RUMBLE Open Workshop which will be held in the frame of the e-FORUM ACUSTICUM 2020 with the aim to present the project's achievements regarding low sonic boom and supersonic flight. Despite the COVID-19 negative impact, especially for in-person gatherings, the event will take place virtually giving the opportunity for RUMBLE to showcase its results.

PARE - Perspectives for Aeronautical Research in Europe, is a project funded by the Horizon 2020 programme, lasting from Oct. 2017 to Dec. 2020, aimed at triggering strong collaboration between various European stakeholders to support the achievement of the Flightpath 2050 goals. In particular, the assessment of the rate of progress relative to these goals and respective provision of recommendations, focusing on significant issues which include long-distance travelling, the participation of women in aerospace and educating and attracting young talents has been analysed.

iFACT (iodine Fed Advanced Cusp field Thruster) project was successfully launched in Friedrichshafen, Germany in January 2020. Funded by the European Commission as part of its Horizon 2020 Programme, the €2M project will run for 24 months.
