This November, the European Aerospace Science Network Association (EASN) and the Airport Regions Conference (ARC) have reaffirmed their cooperation with the formal signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), aiming at pursuing joint activities for the development and promotion of mutually beneficial scientific, technological, and organizational advancements in aviation and air transport, particularly in the field of airport operations.

The 15th EASN International Conference, which was held last October in the cultural city of Madrid, Spain, was a great success, gathering experts, researchers, and professionals from more than 35 countries to share their knowledge on the future of aviation and space. This years conference, focused on "Innovation in Aviation & Space towards Sustainability Today and Tomorrow", featured over 80 technical sessions & workshops, 4 keynote speeches, and 2 discussion panels, highlighting state-of-the-art research across a variety of topics and giving the opportunity for networking among academics, industry experts, and policy makers, fostering new collaborations and the exchange of creative ideas.

EASN, in collaboration with EUCASS (European Conference on Aerospace Sciences), have organized 12-13 March 2025 an enlightening Workshop on "Hydrogen in Aviation & Space: Opportunities and Challenges", which took place at the prestigious Von Karman Institute for Fluid Dynamics in Sint-Genesius-Rode, Belgium. This workshop brought together aerospace experts, researchers, and industry leaders to explore the role of hydrogen in transforming both the aviation and space sectors.

At the 14th EASN International Conference in Thessaloniki, Greece, a significant milestone was reached with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the European Aeronautics Science Network (EASN) association and the International Council of the Aeronautical Sciences (ICAS). This formal agreement, also validated during the 34th ICAS Congress in Florence, Italy, marks a new chapter in collaboration between two of the foremost organizations in the field of aerospace research.

The EASN Association releases a position paper with the aim to contribute to the open discussion concerning the Framework Programme 10. The position paper underlines the need for a sufficiently funded Aviation programme therein, addressing all significant challenges for the Aviation sector and being a suitable frame for both, integration and demonstration of innovation in the near and short term as well as exploration and maturation of breakthrough technologies to feed the pipeline of innovation and ensure Impact also beyond 2035.
