The third EASN periodic Newsletter for 2022 is now published.
In this edition, Dr. Jordi Pons i Prats, co-chair of the 12th EASN International Conference on "Innovation in Aviation & Space for opening New Horizons" is welcoming the readers of the EASN newsletter and the participants of the EASN Conference. Further to that, an extended summary regarding the updates and key-highlights of the forthcoming EASN event is presented: The EASN conference agenda includes eight Keynote Speeches by distinguished personalities of the European Aeronautics and Space Community. More than 500 scientists, engineers and policy makers from over 45 countries all over the world, are expected to join this yearly gathering where about 380 technical presentations will be distributed in more than 75 sessions.
The issue also includes special reference to the keynote speakers as well as to Clean Sky 2 Programme and EREA special thematic sessions.
Furthermore, the EASN Newsletter contains two very interesting and exploratory interviews with two of the keynote speakers of the 12th EASN International Conference:
The first is given by Dr.-Ing. Gisela Detrell, Research Team Leader at the Institute of Space Systems of the University of Stuttgart who introduces her views regarding the prospective of "Surviving on Mars". The second interview is given by Mr. Daniel Marco Parraga, Director General of Innovation and Digital Economy of the Government of Catalonia. Mr. Marco Parraga, on his occasion of his presence in the 12th EASN Conference as a keynote speaker, describes the objectives and challenges of Catalunya government strategy on space industry development.
This edition also highlights the external activities of the EASN Association, as it includes the participation of EASN at the 9th edition of the European Conference for Aerospace Sciences organized by EUCASS, held in Lille, France from 27 June until 01 July 2022 as well as its strong presence at the 33rd Congress of the International Council of the Aeronautical Sciences (ICAS) which was successfully conducted in Stockholm, Sweden in 4-9 September 2022.
Last but not least, through this issue, EASN welcomes Prof. Katerina Monkova, professor at Technical University in Kosice, as its new National Contact Point (NCP) in Slovakia.
As usually, this issue disseminates the latest achievements and results of several EU-funded research projects and informs about the latest news of the members of the EASN Association.
