The fourth EASN periodic Newsletter for 2018 is now published.

This edition includes updates on the recent undertakings of the European Aeronautical community, as well as on some of the topmost upcoming news and events.

First of all, in this last issue you may find the 1st announcement for the 9th EASN International Conference which will be held from the 3rd until the 6th of September 2019, in Athens, Greece as well as the invitation for the upcoming "Continuous Professional Development (CDP)" seminar on the topic: "Bonded Composite Repair of Aircraft Structures: Contemporary Challenges and Latest Innovations" which will be held in Paris, France from 18th to 20th June, 2019, co-organised by the EASN Association and GMI Aero. Simultaneously, two very interesting and exploratory interviews which intend to give in-depth information about the above mentioned events are included inside the issue: The first interview is given by the co-organizers of the upcoming EASN International Conference, Costas Charitidis, Professor at the School of Chemical Engineering of NTUA and Spiros Pantelakis, Professor at the University of Patras and Chairman of the EASN Association who share their thoughts on the importance of this event. The second interview is given by the GMI Aero President, Mr. Roland Chemama, who describes the concept behind the CPD initiative.


In this issue is also included a report on the 8th EASN International Workshop on "Manufacturing for Growth & Innovation", which took place between 4 and 7 of September 2018, in Glasgow, UK and was attended by more than 150 participants.

Additionally, this fourth edition of the EASN Newsletter contains two very stimulating interviews concerning activities encouraged by the EASN Association: In the first interview, Dr. Pablo Garcia Tello, Section Head of the Development of EU Projects & Initiatives of CERN, shared his viewpoint about an initiative co-organized by the EASN Association, the European Space Agency and the IdeaSquare of CERN, regarding a very promising educational student challenge initiative in aviation engineering. In the second one, the Coordinator of the project TandemAEROdays19.20 Eng. Claudia Dobre, introduces the concept and the strategic objectives of the AEROdays dual event organized in Romania and in Germany the years 2019 and 2020 respectively.

As always, the current issue holds a series of other engaging topics including the latest achievements and results of a number of EU-funded research projects.
