March 14th, 2025
EASN, in collaboration with EUCASS (European Conference on Aerospace Sciences), have organized 12-13 March 2025 an enlightening Workshop on "Hydrogen in Aviation & Space: Opportunities and Challenges", which took place at the prestigious Von Karman Institute for Fluid Dynamics in Sint-Genesius-Rode, Belgium. This workshop brought together aerospace experts, researchers, and industry leaders to explore the role of hydrogen in transforming both the aviation and space sectors.

The main objectives of this workshop included:
Enable knowledge transfer: Exploring how aerospace can drive the adoption of hydrogen technologies within aeronautics, fostering deeper cross-industry collaboration.
Drive cost reduction: Demonstrating how aeronautics can lead cost reductions for aerospace through new investments in hydrogen-critical materials, technologies, and procedures.
Investigate synergies: Delving into the common and differing objectives of aerospace and aeronautics, while drawing on lessons learned from both sectors.
The workshop featured insightful discussions on H2 research, exploration of synergies between aerospace & aeronautics sectors, networking opportunities with experts in the field, and an engaging visit to the VKI laboratories.
We extend our gratitude to all participants for attending and the von Karman Institute for Fluid Dynamics for making this event a truly enriching experience.
