The 33rd Congress of the International Council of the Aeronautical Sciences (ICAS) was successfully conducted in Stockholm, Sweden in 4-9 September 2022.
The ICAS tradition is to bring together a global array of topics and participants that covers the world of aeronautics. The scientific portion of the congress took place at the Stockholm Waterfront Congress Centre. The ICAS technical program, covered the core aeronautical disciplines such as Aircraft Design, Aerodynamics, Propulsion, Materials and Structures, Systems and Subsystems, and Controls.
EASN participated in ICAS2022 with the organization of a dedicated session, involving 3 papers on the topic of 'Sustainable design, manufacture and maintenance of aerostructures'. The session was chaired by T. Ireman.
Moreover, in the frame of ICAS2022 Congress, CleanSky2 received the prestigious ICAS Von Karman Award for International Cooperation in Aeronautics. Academia was represented at the event by EASN through Prof. Spiros Pantelakis, honorary Chairman of the Association.
Next gathering to share fruitful ideas and progressive plans is the 12th EASN International Conference, in Barcelona, Spain from 18 to 21st October 2022.
