The second EASN periodic Newsletter for 2022 is now published.
First, this issue includes a summary regarding the updates and key highlights of the forthcoming 12th EASN International Conference on "Innovation in Aviation & Space for opening New Horizons". So far, 7 Keynote Speeches have been confirmed to be provided by distinguished personalities of the European Aeronautics and Space Community. The abstract submission process is currently in progress and will be closed on 15th of June 2022. So far more than 300 technical presentations which are shaped in approximately 60 sessions have been submitted. More specifically, dedicated workshops, where Clean Aviation Joint Undertaking and EREA Future Sky initiative will showcase their activities. Furthermore, several sessions will include the dissemination of research achievements obtained in the frame of research projects as well as the introduction of new research ideas serving as motivation for future breakthrough research and collaborations.
This edition also announces the EASN's active participation in the Stakeholders Group of the Clean Hydrogen Joint Undertaking (CH JU) representing the sector of Aeronautics. EASN is represented in Stakeholders Group by Professor Spiros Pantelakis, Honorary Chairman of the EASN Association and Professor Elena Jasiuniene, Scientific Advisory Officer of the EASN's BoD.
At the same time and on the occasion of the launch of the European partnership for Clean Hydrogen Joint Undertaking (JU), EASN is pleased to host a very stimulating interview of Mr. Bart Biebuyck, Executive Director of Clean Hydrogen Partnership, in which he shares his views regarding the challenges and scopes of the brand-new Clean Hydrogen Partnership.
Furthermore, the participation of EASN at the 9th edition of the European Conference for Aerospace Sciences is announced. The event, organized by EUCASS, will take place in Lille, France from 27 June until 01 July 2022 with the friendly support of 3AF (Association Aeronautique et Astronautique de France). EASN organizes a two-part session entitled "Climate-neutral aviation fuels & alternative propulsion systems (EASN-CLINAV)"> to be held on 30 June 2022, coordinated by the EASN Chairman, Prof. Andreas Strohmayer of the University of Stuttgart, Germany together with Prof. George Lampeas, of the University of Patras, Greece.
Last but not least, through this issue, EASN welcomes Prof. Kyriakos Kourousis, Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) of the University of Limerick, as its new National Contact Point (NCP) in Ireland.
As usually, this issue disseminates the latest achievements and results of several EU-funded research projects and informs about the latest news of SESAR JU as well as the members of the EASN Association.
