The first EASN periodic Newsletter for 2022 is now published.
First of all, please find in this issue the 1st Announcement and call for abstracts for the 12th EASN International Conference on "Innovation in Aviation & Space for opening New Horizons". The event will take place in Barcelona, Spain from the 18th until the 21st of October 2022 and it is co-organized by the EASN Association and the Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya - BarcelonaTech (UPC). Furthermore in this issue, we are happy to announce that the proceedings of the 11th EASN International Conference are now published! The EASN Conferences publication policy is described, as well, by reporting the publications performed for the last year's event. This edition of the EASN Newsletter also contains a very interesting survey, initiated by EASN, regarding the lack of sufficient funding for disruptive, low TRL research observed in both the Clean Aviation JU SRIA and the Work Programme Cluster 5 of Horizon Europe.
In this frame, several distinguished European Academia representatives share with the readers of the EASN Newsletter their views.
At the same time and on the occasion of the launch of the European partnership for Clean Aviation, EASN is pleased to host a common interview of Mr. Ron van Manen, Head of Strategic Development of the Clean Aviation JU and Dr. Jean-Francois Brouckaert, Head of Technology Office of the Clean Aviation JU, in which they introduce their views regarding the challenges and scopes of the brand-new Clean Aviation Partnership.
This issue also includes, an exploratory interview with Dr. Jorge-A. Sanchez-P., Chairman of the Board of the Hellenic Space Technologies and Applications Cluster (si-Cluster), regarding the scopes and the challenges of si-Cluster as well as the mutual benefits of the cooperation (MoU) with the EASN Association.
As usually, this issue disseminates the latest achievements and results of several EU-funded research projects and informs about the latest news of members of the EASN Association.
