EASN Newsletter - January 2018

The first EASN Newsletter for 2018 is now published.

This issue includes updates on the recent undertakings of the European Aeronautical community, as well as on some of the topmost upcoming news and events.

Find inside the invitation for the 2018 EASN Parliamentary Breakfast & Open Workshop, which will be held on the 12th of April 2018, in Brussels, Belgium and the 1st Announcement for the 8th EASN-CEAS International Workshop on "Manufacturing for Growth & Innovation" to take place from the 4th until the 7th of September 2018, in Glasgow, UK. Also in this issue is included a report on the 7th EASN International Conference which took place between 26 and 29 of September 2017, in Warsaw, Poland and was attended by more than 280 participants. The establishment of the EASN Stakeholders Advisory Board, is also announced,  an important milestone in the process of strengthening the role of the EASN Association as the European Academia Stakeholder in Aeronautics Research related matters.

Additionally, the EASN Newsletter contains very significant information about the brand new activities of the Association: Two stimulating interviews, the first of Prof. Andreas Strohmayer (Professor for Aircraft Design at University of Stuttgart and Member of the Board of Directors of EASN as Industrial Advisory Officer) regarding the proposed actions for establishing a closer link between EASN, Industry and Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) active in the European aeronautics and Aerospace Sector, and the second of Prof. Konstantinos Kontis (Professor of Aerospace Engineering at University of Glasgow and Member of the Board of Director of EASN as Scientific Advisory Officer) who gives the rationale behind the so called initiative of the Association "Continuous Professional Development (CDP) programme".

As always, the current issue includes a series of other engaging topics including information on the recently published EASN position paper, as well as a short report from ACARE and its working groups.
